Hi
9 months ago renewed alarm with wiired Texecom Premier Elite and Texecom dual sensor in kitchen. All working great.

Building inspector wants an extractor fan in the kitchen and wiring for the isolator switch will be close to the sensor and cable of the dualtec sensor.

Is that a problem or should I site that switch elsewhere? Thanks in advance.

You should follow the general guidance on this. in how close the wires should be.
If you have screened cable it becomes less of an issue, if setup correctly.
It will only affect the sensor as such when the extractor fan is drawing power if at all.
Domestic Extractor fans are low in power, so its unlikely the extractor fan will cause a problem even if the guidance isn't followed.

If the cable was close to high powered device, like electric hob or oven it is more likely to cause an issue with the sensor.

Define "close ", 1cm/ 30 cm?
How much of the alarm cable is close to the mains cable?
How close is the switch to the sensor?
An Industrial fan could consume a lot more power and the issue is likely to be more significant whilst in use.
So without knowing the power rating of the fan and distances its hard to be definitive.

Thanks Secure I Am
The switch will be around 60 mm and the cable a similar distance…. It’s on a a humidity sensor so there will be power permanent live in and out of the switch albeit low current.

I can’t see it being an issue, the distance is close.

If it becomes an issue you can fit a filter
