Hi
I've recently installed a texecom veritas excel alarm system. It only has 1 pir which I've wired eol, however when I try and do a walk test with my keypad it's not showing up and again when I set the alarm it's not triggering the sounder. it flashed like its picking up motion, I don't know whether it's something to do with the programming, the sounder is working fine when tested. All the zones not used in the control panel are linked through and the tamper for pir is linked across. Anyone else had the same problem?

Thanks

Are the unused zones just linked out or have you put a 10K resistor across the zone terminals as required when EOL is programmed.

Good spot thanks a lot, was thinking of just wiring it as a global tamper as I've only got one pir, do you know if this needs to be selected anywhere in the settings on the keypad, also would I select oc on the back of the pir? I've attached a picture thanks

Miscellaneous Options 3. Depending on which method you’ve used.

Your pir would work on vertais excel eol,as resistor values are wrong.
You need 10k/22k not 4k7/2k2.
Wire pir n/c not eol.

Thanks for the help is that the oc setting on the back of the pir? Then connect it as a global tamper. Would I need to change any settings on the keypad to get it to work do you know?

Don't know what programmed setting you have changed for eol.
Suggest default programming to factory reset, as only one zone used.
Set slider to o/c for standard 4 wire connection's.

Agreed, if you’re not familiar with EOL, Global tamper is much easier to understand.

If you are only using one zone then that’s pretty straightforward, if you need to link more tampers together I normally use 2 way BT style gel connectors.

EOL there is option for the old values of 22k 10k, newer option of 4k7 and 2k2, don’t know if they ever got round to allowing this to be changed via the lcd keypad but certainly could be done via the led keypad, not sure if the latest version of veritas udl, not used it in years.

menu 30, 1 is old veritas values, 2 is premier values
