textured render finishes... how 2 ????

can anyone advise how to acheive different finishes in external render. i am going to render a curved wall and i am not overly confident. will probably look better with a textured finish...... advice would be appreciated......

further to above it only needs to be troweled finish or with brush , sponge etc.... not botherd about pebbledash etc

could always go with a brush finish, basically hit the sand and cement (while wet)with a brush on its side
