Odds has had a number of antisemitic posts removed in recent months after being reported by myself and others. I'm permanently banned from most 'Israel' threads for 2 reasons, firstly the antisemites do not want counter arguments or rationale about the conflict in the middle east, secondly, I am more than happy to call them (including at least 1 Mod) Jew hating ****'s because that's what they are.
I don't dance around the issue or attempt to disguise my language, I just proudly call them out for what they are, jew hating ****'s.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has officially moved forward with a settlement expansion plan in the occupied West Bank that would make any future Palestinian state virtually impossible. The Israeli leader signed an agreement on Thursday to move ahead with the project, which would bisect the West Bank. "We are going to fulfil our promise that there will be no Palestinian state. This place belongs to us,” Netanyahu said at the event in Maale Adumim, an Israeli settlement just east of Jerusalem.

“We are going to double the city’s population.” The development plan, which includes 3,400 new homes for Israeli settlers, would cut off much of the West Bank from occupied East Jerusalem while linking up thousands of Israeli settlements in the area; far-right Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said settlements such as E1 will help erase Palestine from the map, even as Palestinian statehood gains increasing recognition from UN member states.

“This reality finally buries the idea of a Palestinian state because there is nothing to recognise and no one to recognise,” Smotrich said.
21 countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia and Japan, condemned Israel’s plan to build its new settlement.

A small thing has been nagging away at me for some time now, perhaps Notch and/or Odds can come up with an answer for me.

After the 1948 war when Israel was invaded by 5 Arab countries, Israel remained more or less how it was laid out by the UN. The entire West Bank was under the control of Jordan, and the entire Gaza Strip was under the control of Egypt.

This remained the case for 18 years up until 1967 when the Arabs again invaded Israel.

What puzzles me is why, in those intervening 18 years, did neither Jordan or Egypt allow the Palestinians an independent state in either of those areas?
