the Rwanda plan Mk2

the Rwanda plan was never going to work

Sunak clings onto it because its all he has left
You’re clinging to that because you are hoping for a failure. You can’t bear to see those poor refugees fleeing death and persecution travelling all the way through safe countries, paying a criminal, risking their lives crossing the worlds busiest shipping lanes in a rubber boat only to end up being sent to yet another safe country without all the benefits, handouts, legal aid ponces and do-gooders, can you?

Other countries are being sounded out for a similar Rwanda type plan

Think there are about 5 or 6

Costa Rica ?? Is one of em ?? Afaik ?

Apparently Under Blair Labour looked at shipping migrants to Tanzania ? In Africa ?

More than 6,000 people have made the journey so far this year – an increase of about a quarter on the same period last year. According to the International Organisation for Migration, 10 people had drowned in the Channel in 2024 before Tuesday, plus one lorry death on a Channel crossing. Matthew Rycroft, the most senior civil servant in the Home Office, who has overseen the Rwanda scheme for two years, has told MPs he did not have evidence to show it would have a deterrent effect that would make it value for money.

its moving forward at glacial speed, hindered at every step of the way by the massive industry of human rights lawyers making their living fighting for economic illegal immigrants rights.

The House of Lords is notorious for being a bunch of right-on lefties, and not at all crammed with aged traditionalsts and Conservatives, especially those kicked upstairs over the last 14 years.

/sarcasm off/

Do you not find it strange that across the entire legal profession in the UK over 10% are Human rights specialist.

You would never vote Labour

I have done. And the main reason I don't often is mainly because of their stance on immigration.

I have more in common with Labour than I do tory.

I think rishy just announced 1 billion extra on armed forces, but we have spent ( wasted) 600 million on rawanda.

But still they try - and if the threat of death by drowning isn't enough to deter them how in hell is a free plane trip to Rwanda going to do so?
Maybe if we don’t house, feed and put money in their pockets before we look after people who’ve been here all their life’s ?

Maybe look after the uk and stop apologising for everything.
