the trade war heats up: China stops exports of gallium, germanium, antimony, graphite, and tungsten to USA

Exactly, I'd replace the word 'bullying' with 'incentivising' but you have it in a nutshell, and a move away from globalisation.

Or do you think Globalisation has been a success?
It has been a success for China.
Raised more people out of poverty than any other country.
It's been a success for America as well.
The rich in America are richer than ever, there is an underclass in America who feel left out but that is more due to the unfair distribution of wealth generated by the Globalisation, rather than cheap imports from China.

This is often overlooked. America is now fantastically rich.

For all its faults, Single party government (i.e. Communism if you like) is more likely to achieve those long term aspirations.
Multi-party democracy, with short term Parliamentary durations is unlikely to achieve long-term aspirations.

It is a trade off (pardon the pun), between individual innovation and long term stability and planning. Which is going to win as we go through the AI industrial revolution.

Globalisation has been a massive success for America.

Do you think Americas biggest digital businesses : Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Netflix, eBay, Uber …….would be as big without globalisation.

Trump has a bunch of hotels outside of America……hilarious for somebody against globalisation

I don't disagree but globalisation has removed a lot of the need to invest in the UK
But you voted for brexit because you argued U.K. could get loads of great new trade deals.

You were lauding the U.K. becoming member of CPTPP

Fillyboy says: Brexit is great because it gives U.K. opportunities for greater globalisation
Fillyboy says: Trump is great because he wanted to stop globalisation.

Make yer mind up

Is that a question?

Then there's Theocracy, which is basically Government according to the Old Testament, or similar religious texts.
I see that as a similar system to other systems, Government for the benefit of the masses, supposedly.

Trumps trade war against China
Trumps attack on USAID

Have created a great opportunity for China.

Trump has pizzed off most of the world which are now changing supply chains away from America, as it is proving to be untrustworthy.

Canada is now selling oil and gas to China instead of USA
Australia is now selling oil, gas and coal to China instead of USA

And if you want USA to be weaned off China, there needs to be a plan to get rid of China owning loads of USA debt.

And Boeing now has a fire sale of new aircraft which China refused to accept delivery.
SEOUL, April 24 (Reuters) - Boeing's (BA.N), opens new tab Chinese customers are refusing delivery of new planes built for them due to tariffs, the U.S. planemaker has confirmed, as a third Boeing jet started returning to the U.S. on Thursday.

Ironically a underclass who all voted for Trump…..who is busy making the rich even richer.

In Trumps inauguration, he had sitting with him Americas richest billionaires…..they weren’t there because they live Trump.

Trumps plan to re industrialise America is looking backwards.

Trump wants to fight to rebuild 1950s America whilst China is fighting to win the AI revolution.

Trump is nostalgia politics

It is one of the biggest questions. Will the West, and especially USA, come out on top, or will it be China.
Democracies allow the rejection (or prosecution) of their leaders.
Communism does not facilitate such actions.

As long as the people in the Communist countries are not feeling disenfranchised or subjugated, Communism may be triumphant.

But declaring war in Democratic countries circumvents those democratic principles.

Trump is isolating America.

If the West is to come out on top, it needs to work together not fight.

USA + EU + U.K. can help stop China coming out on top

USA + EU economy is way bigger than China
