Tiling a shower - onto ply

I'm fitting a boat. The shower surround is plywood (not marine). How should I prepare the surface and with what, and what should I use to fix the tiles to get as waterproof a finish as possible. As I'm sure you understand, and leaks are a definite no-no!

I used a tanking system from topps tiles around £90 for a 1400x900 shower cubicle.
