google "polished wood edging" - you will find a variety of edgings & trims. But dont order yet.
First remove the dry fix tiles and appliance, and then post a pic of the exposed sand & cement surface?
Will the appliance be live or is it merely a decorative feature?

If that fire is not ' live' yet, I would be inclined to build a frame and pour a 3inch thick concrete slab prior to tiling it. A fire always looks better off the floor.
Tiles need to be fully supported with timber or metal edging to prevent snapping and raised for safety .(level ,you can walk across too close in front of fire.) Assuming stove is being used .
