Timber clad bay window question

Hi

currently have a bay window which sticks out from the house around 0.5m
is 1.1m high and 2m in length.

Would I be find to rip the old spongey/rotten timber off,
Apply new breathable felt behind &
Clad it in 12mm shiplap timber? is 12mm good enough?

I have insulted in from inside so that wont need to be done.
