I visited a job yesterday - student house, after report of the dishwasher tripping the electrics.
There was a small split around the power button, so easy one I'll replace the dishwasher.
However I ran the dishwasher to observe what was tripping, and as reported after about 10minutes into the cycle the RCD tripped. It didn't knock any breakers off. I disconnected the dishwasher and turned the RCD back on. Then I noticed something I've never come across before - there was a lag of between 8-10 minutes before the power returned to the rest of the house on the socket circuit run via this Rcd. Any ideas?
