Toilet Cistern not automatically filling

Hello, we have a toilet that when flushed is not automatically re filling. We need to remove the top and just lightly touch the piece of plastic with the arrow and it refills.
Not sure how we can make it work as it used to
Any help gratefully received

Probably just lime-scale preventing the float moving up and down. Close the service valve in the water supply, then clean the float valve.
