Triton shower.cant get olive on inlet pipe?

Hi All
i am fitting a new Triton and am using plastic pipe , i am using a conex elbow but i cant get the olive to fit the inlet ? does it need one?

It shows the same fitting in the instructions but no detail on the olive bit?

Need a shower .been a week!!

Slide olive onto pipe, copper better but plastic will probably do.
Tap gently onto highest part of circumference of olive with small hammer. Work your way round. The bore will get bigger, honest.

I think i was just afraid of it as the shower cost so much and i was scared of breaking something ................thank you
