I keep wondering if the Israeli leadership are being stupid or have actually done a deal with China to hand over the middle east to them in return for China taking over protecting israel. Its pretty clear only China can rein in Iran, and have the (cunningly maintained) neutral standing to take a protector of the peace roll in the region. Its clear thats how this will end up. Israel are doing everything to make sure this doesn't end quickly. Which isn't their usual "mowing the lawn" MO.
The motive for a deal between china and israel is clear. Israel must see USA is on the decline and china rising. Israelis do not take national survival for granted and are well aware of the political standing of Israel but have abandoned trying to keep the democrat vote (to carry on the attempted ethnic cleansing of Gaza in full view) and then ignored the obvious republican backlash over expense of Israel even before the expense of this disaster. Israel has either gone Trump level delusional and are arrogantly terminally harming the essential hand that feeds them by running the USA into an ever bigger disaster or they have a plan B after USA. China will be the big winner geopolitically from Israels behaviour so it seems an obvious possibility.
But no, I think they have just gone mad/stupid/desperate. China would never accept the sort of political meddling the zionist lobby are famous for, they would keep them at arms length and expect them to always be trying to meddle. Isreal should know they wouldn't get far trying to game china, and wouldn't trust someone they can't manipulate. So this is the last chance for getting USAs help to try to get rid of the only real resistance to Israel in the region (shia leadership) where the Sunni leaders had capitulated for a quiet life in club West. And they are hoping for civil war in Iran and taking the chance on the internal chaos keeping Iranians focus off them. If thats their only plan I think they massively ****ed up just like Trump has.
