A better example might be that we have nuclear armed subs, but they're bugger all use trying to open up the straights of Hormuz. Destroyers for protection and Minesweepers would be a lot more useful.

I chose the colours as they are the best camoflage and look really menacing. Glad she likes them as it took me a while to pick them out.
 
If the trend of giving money to people for doing absolutely nowt, so as to appear nice continues, then our armed forces will never get the funding they need.
Its not just us (the UK) the west in general has slipped up massively over the last 3 or 4 decades.
The Donald has has come up Trumps again by forcing us to confront reality.
Not just the absolutely bonkers policy of inviting the entire 3rd world to rock up here, gratis, but, also that our protection against the nutters of the world is severely lacking.
There's probably quite a few on here that have never heard this quote (we know who they are) that rings true concerning 'our' situation.

We are now l circling round to the beginning again.
