Trumps attack on Iran - 2026 edition

How will the upcoming attack on Iran go.

my guess as to what's going on in Trumps head at the moment. Re-arm, re-stock & re group, prepare for the next stage whatever that entails. There will be a next stage whatever that entails, boots on the ground, maybe a specialised force to take the enriched uranium, it won't be possible to do a deal with the Iranians, fruitcakes.

The Iranians can't re-arm, their manufacturing capability has been destroyed, whatever they're still firing is only what remains in their last magazine. They have nothing to negotiate with.

The Hormuz Strait staying closed will benefit him, it will focus the minds of his main allies, the Gulf States, and focus the mind of his other enemy, China. The biggest loser in the Hormuz strait staying closed is China, Trump knows this.

Should be an interesting couple of weeks.

I agree, I think this war is more about China, Russia in Trumps head. Lots of things are not adding up which is confusing but China and Russia are becoming more the closest of allies now through this, they hated each other and nearly caused a nuclear war noit that long ago. We could actually be in WW3 now without realising it. Especially if China now makes a move on Taiwan. Russia mapping out our underwater infrastructure is.also a tell tale sign.

Wrong. Russia has a pipeline of gas through Syberia direct to China in return for micro chips and military equipment. China is basicallyy bank rolling Russia in supplying cutting edge military equipment that has never been seen before.
Edit: Russian troops and Chinese troops have also been training together.

America has rare earths but shut down the processing plants and left it to China because of pollution. Agreed Greenland has plenty but I think the military value is greater than the minerals. Ukraine has loads of rare earths, but like Greenland, production is a long way off.

China and Russia are the only allies Iran has left, China can't afford to alienate the rest of the world, it's going to be a balancing act for them. Trump has within his gift to completely shut off Iranian oil meaning they will need to rely on the other gulf states, which isn't a given when you consider how much China has been helping Iran.

There's some sort of global power reset going on that's for sure, I wouldn't like to predict which way it will go, other than the UK and Europe will become laughingly irrelevant.

Absolutely and this is my opinion also, that means a lot considering my military knowledge and stategic know how.
 
The only ones that are not falling for this is Israel, they know full well what the consequences of a cease fire is and peace talks between the US and Iran is. Unless Israel is involved in these talks they will continue with their goals. They will not run the risk of leaving Iran or Lebanon in a state of being a threat to them any longer regardless of what trump says.

Russia is very dependent on them buying oil and gas.
Russia is a dying empire.
Russia see - rightly - china's ascending trajectory.
Russia fears becoming a vassal state, under china's control.
Not next year, but it's there.

Nonsense, Russia has more than most western countries in both technology and economy. They are completely self sufficient after being sanctioned heavily for years. Sanctions do not work against Russia. China is more dependant on the supply of oil and gas from Russia, it is a two way street, they have the energy and china needs the energy.
