Really? Iran's stockpile is currently estimated at 440 kilos enriched to 60%, a fraction below weapons grade.
Even if they dilute it down, which they haven't agreed to yet, that just brings us back to JOPCA.

No, it should never have reached 60%.

Why is everybody so protective of JOPCA, it really wasn't a great deal, it was the best they could manage at the time. Macron was threatening I ran with sanctions in Sept 2025 because Iran were in breach of JOCPA.

It only hit 60% after the US president of the time arbitrarily cancelled JOPCA. Pretending it was still in force after the US shat on it is silly.

they'll still have to defend themselves no matter who gets in, but maybe less aggressively.
So genocide, ethnic cleansing, land grabs, and state apartheid is a little bit OTT for you now then?

Shame you haven't condemned this before :rolleyes:

Agreed, the Iranians recognise the value to themselves having the Democrats in control.
It was Carter who presided at the time of the hostage crisis in the late 70’s and there is a strong historical suggestion that Ronnie Raygun manipulated the release for his own ends. So I think it is more about harming Trumpf than helping the Dems

What a resounding success this has been for the States and Trump.

<sarcasm mode off>

It certainly hasn't been the pushover they thought it would be, but it's not over yet and the majority of the Gulf States acknowledge that nothing can move forward till the IRGC and their proxies the Houthis, Hamas and Hezbollah are neutralised.

Nobody truly knows who's calling the shots in Iran at the moment, it's unlikely a cardboard cut-out of the Ayatollah is ruling, there are splits in the IRGC and the protests/skirmishes continue.

Nobody's prepared to put boots on the ground so there might be a way to go yet, and they're all (US and Iran) running short of certain rockets. The US have taken out major rail links making it difficult for Russia and China to feed Iran weaponry.

When the US finally give up and accept Iranian terms it'll have achieved nothing except lives lost and a more powerful Iran with greater influence in the region.

And perhaps many of our goods increasing in price slightly if the charging ships to pass through becomes a thing.

I see Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi have today signed a defence pact they've been working on for a year whereby any attack against one of them is considered an attack on all of them.
The three countries have several things in common. All 3 are Sunni Muslim (Iran is Shia) and all 3 are allies of the USA.

Saudi is currently under a two pronged attack from Iran and Iran backed Houthis.
