I am going away this winter for a week, and when I am away, i want to turn off my water. I know how to do this, the tap is under my sink. However, I have a combi bolier (Vokera linea 28). Will this affect the boiler if it has no water feeding it. The heating wont be on, but even when its off, every now and again it fires up for 30seconds, then goes off.

What do you all think?

I think you should turn off the water, because it won't affect anything, and leave the central heating roomstat on a setting that will prevent any water from freezing in the pipes, just in case we have a cold 'snap'.

BTW, don't turn off the electricity, especially to the freezer, unless you like maggots and a smell that will linger for weeks.

Cheers, dont worry, dont plan to turn the electrics of, i have a marine fish tank, so that would be £4000 down the drain!!
