HI can anybody help please I have reached to the end of the road, what to do next! I have done what others have suggested and it make no difference, bleeding the two rads, removing each side and checking the flow of the water when the valve is open and closed in case its stuck all ok. The rad gets warm momentarily you bleed the rad , although no air is coming out. Im letting the system circulate with the hot water, then after a few minutes it goes cold. Previous to this alll has been well for ten years, the only thing I have done is changed the old pump. please help with any new ideas thanks .

Obviously no flow through rads. When you bled (presumably water coming out) you are letting hot water enter rad so they get warm. Presumably you drained (partly or full) the system to change the pump and you have probably dislodged 10 years worth of sediment which is blocking the flow or more likely the return to these rads.

Close both valves on rads and remove rads. Put water catcher under one valve at a time and open valve, this will tell you which pipe to the rad is blocked i.e. the one that doesn't deliver any water when valve is opened.
Flush those pipes and replace rads.

Flushing:
Assuming you have standard modern rads;
Buy your self an outside tap hose connector i.e. the spout which screws onto the outside tap and takes a push on connector onto the spout. Buy a push on connector that automatically closes when removed from the spout, these usually have a red dot indicator on them.
Screw the tap connector onto the rad valve that is blocked (yes they are the same size and thread) and put your push on connector onto the end of your garden hose. Turn the hose on and push your finger in the end of the connector (opens it) and let the air out of the hose (no point pushing air into your system). Now, with water catcher at the ready, open the blocked valve and stick the connector on the end of your hose onto the tap connector on the valve = lovely mains pressure water forced into the blocked pipe. Probably only need to do this for a few seconds, then pull the connector off (glad you got an automatic closing one at this point) and catch all the black gunge that comes out of your blocked pipe. Once its running clear, close the valve, remove tap connector, replace red, open valves, nice hot rad. Repeat as necessary.

Thank you for your advice, thats what I thought I have tested both sides of the rad and there is water coming out on both sides, I have tested one at a time. The pressure is strong , when the valve is open, I have drained the rad and filled it back again with no difference,

Any other ideas. why the pipe on either side go cold.

Just close all the other rads. If the pump doesn't push water through the 2 rads then, there is a blockage or plumbing error , like going from flow to flow instead of flow to return.
It's possible that the rads only ever worked by gravity circulation, which can stop and start with no apparent reason!

make sense i shall try shutting all and doing my check on each one individually and i will post the result as soon as.Thanks :)

Is it just me !
One minute there is water at both rad pipes so flushing isn't needed. Then there is no water at the rad so balancing isn't the answer !

If there is water getting to the rad, it must get hot :?
Check your valves, they may be blocked.
Trvs by any chance :?:

Hi every body the problem has been sorted thanks to all for your contribution.I have solved it by directing the water through the two rad only and that seems to have sorted the problem.

Many thanks

Regards
:D

Or has restricted flow through those 2 rads which is overcome to a satisfactory state when the pump is only supplying those !
He says directing the water through those 2 rads only, the others aren't working now ??????
