Can't understand why Agile - (not the most appropriate of tags for a guy so stuck in the mud against us mere DIY-ers! but there you are!) is so anti-females - saw another thread of his bemoaning another member of the fairer sex too!
Maybe he didn't have a date for Saturday night eh? Wot's RGI stand for anyway - Really Getting Irritated?

Hi Debzo,

First thing I'm not getting in your system is the "dump it" radiator? why?
The pump will always pump the easiest way around and if you have a short cut for the pump it will use and it will affect the ufh.

Second thing: you have a zone valve to the ground floor manifold and hw cylinder and 1st floor manifold. I can't see why you should have a 3 way mid position valve as well.

You should have a separate control on each manifold which controls the actuators. These controls should have a demand wire coming in from the programmer and a switch live from the them when there is a demand. The demand wire from them switches on the relevant pump, opens the relevant zone valve and fires the boiler.

Since you don't have a radiator circuit, you should have a 3 zone programmer, 3 zone valves, a pump on each of the manifold, (sometimes there is one larger one for 2 manifold if they are no less then 12 loops in total) and a circulating pump, which can also feed the hw cylinder.

The purpose of the delta programmer is to control either a 3 or 4 way mixing valve and the time / temperature of the ufh. You can use a normal programmer instead and set the mixing valve manually (these of course vary on the system you have). It's nothing major to adjust this, just needs a little tweaking and I wouldn't be surprised if you need to balance the loops at the same time. All in all shouldn't take much more than a day.

I can't see why you should have a 3 way mid position valve as well.

That might be the 3 port mixing valve.
I wouldn't recommend manually adjusting this valve.

Is Debzo an electrician?

My OP was how to wire through the relevant controls. As I said at the outset - IPPEC designed the system, and the relevant elements have been installed accordingly.

The problem is knowing how to get the Delta wiring through with the rest of the controls. I have started on this already, and am loath to now start ripping the system apart without knowing how it all links together, since it has been operating manually without any real function problems. It is not being able to put the system to HW only or night set-back or a holiday setting when away etc - and the idea I am probably not getting the most efficiency from the system.

I certainly don't want to be able to use the Delta as a standard programmer and then have to manually operate the mid position valve - that seems to be no further a solution to what I have now.

Oh well I will keep at it!
