I have been thinking about putting wet underfloor heating in my living room, but don't have much height to play with. Polypipe do an overlay system which would fit, but my main concern is with floor insulation.
I live in a bungalow built in 1961, and as far as I can tell there is no insulation under the 100mm concrete slab. I know that poly pipe say the floor insulation must be up to current building regs but was wondering if anyone had experience in this kind of situation.
The overlay system does use an insulation type board to run the 12mm pipes in but I am not sure if it will be sufficient as a primary heat source in a 4.5m x 5.5m room.
I'm planning on using a 10mm porcelain tile on top.
Any help would be great.
