UK Fisheries - Never had it so good

The real problem with Brexit was popularism. We have a local mayor candidate that is trying the same thing. They pick arguments that fit in with various groups of peoples views and make nice noises for them. That causes these groups to vote for them and they can win as a result. The net effects is that lots of people don't stand a chance of weighing positive to negative effects in a sensible way.

Farage is a good example. Always making comments that are borderline racist. He is one anyway. Then illegal immigrants. There is no reason why Brexit will do anything about that. Free movement within the EU. People that are needed will still come here and there is a lot of people from out of the EU who live and work here anyway. Refugees have international laws associated with them. The west one way or the other is involved in the wars that bring them here. Brexit relevant - no. :ROFLMAO: Just an example of one area.

So, Brexit is now responsible for rising sea temperatures? We'll just have to fish the Icelandic waters then. They share them with their European friends already don't they? Oh no, they don’t, do they. I read that’s why they can’t be full EU members. Dunno if that’s true.
Ever heard of the EEA?

And there were negotiations for joining the EU and fishing rights were guaranteed (small nation status), so it's not 'can't' it's just that at present they prefer the 'status quo'...

But Iceland gets most of the benefits that the UK has just lost...

And they whupped the UK's a*se a couple of times at sea even when the UK had a semblance of a navy...

You 'Dunno if that’s true'?

It’s a wonder some over here don’t move there permanently but I suppose they’re choosy who they let in.

The options available were well-known, even before the referendum.

Unfortunately Brexers were unable to agree among themselves what sort of Brexit they wanted (and still can't)

So they wangled it through, each thinking (wrongly) they would get what they wanted.

She’s a coward, Iceland had higher case rates than us at the minute
