Hi there,
I am currently laying the insulation & oak flooring on the concrete slab in my new extension.
Problem 1:
The concrete sub-floor isn't quite level. Over 6m, it is out by 20mm.
Problem 2:
One threshold is therefore lower than the other, and I am aiming for seamless inside/outside progression through folding sliding doors (which are already installed).
Problem 3:
The majority of the 20 mm is within the first 2 of the 6m. Therefore, I have laid the insulation, then placed 18mm chipboard on top of this over this 2m distance to compensate. I then have a distance of around 1m where the oak floor is not adequately supported as we make the transition back down from chip to insulation.
What are my options here? Cut insulation to size and slide in gap, cempolay the area in question?
Any comments would be appreciated!
Cheers.
