I'm redoing my en-suite shower room and at present have taken all the old chipboard floorboards up so i can but down a new plywood floor. The room is 1.8x1.7.

I have a problem in that one of the joists is about 5mm higher that all the rest!!! What would the best solution be, should i raise the height of all the other joists by 5mm by by adding some lengths of wood to the tops of them. The only other option i can see if to plane the joist down by 5mm.

Can anyone give my some advice of what is the best option?

plane it down and chisel the remainder. i had exactly the same problem in my kitchen. it is a nuisance to say the least but you are better off planing the small amount of material away.

don't go mad at it though. ;)
