how tall are you, how much do you weigh? Do you basically sit in bed all day? Those BMR figures look very low.Pubs are great for a coffee and a snack - which for me +1 wasn't the case when they were full of smoke.
Did you ever see the big diet tests done in Minnesota? 50's I think.
There's a big wide bell curve showing base metabolic rates. Also how when some people eat more, they mostly put on muscle.
Upshot - some people have to do a load of exercise they detest, and can't eat food they enjoy, or food others would term "normal".
My BMR is around 1000-1200 kcal/day, which is well towards the low end. It is definitely undesirable, and plain unlucky.
Unless you are on drugs, you wont put on muscle by just eating more. The muscle doesn't grow. It tears and repairs (muscular hypertrophy).
