Morning all

I've recently made 2 small rooms and a hallway into one room, about 4m by 4m. The floor is concrete and is not level - it ranges across the room to about an inch difference in some spots. The previous owner just had chipboard down over it, which left a lumpy feeling floor.

What do you think is the best way to tackle this? multiple layers of self leveling compound, a deep base leveling compound in some areas and normal in others, something else?

I am planning on putting down some chipboard and then laminate flooring.

Cheers for any thoughts that you might have

You could fill the low spots with a water based or latex screed then finish with a final screed.

If it is that bad, you can add granite chips to the screed for a thicker finish.

Done properly, you shouldn't need woodchip panels, just a DPM underlay with your laminate floor.
