unlevel pipe connectors

I am in the middle of replacing the mixer shower. The hot and cold water pipes are unlevel by about 25mm. How can I make the mixer unit level without the taps leaking?

I can get the variable collectors level and sealed, but when I try and scew the mixer unit onto the connectors they tighten on their threads and make the mixer unit uneven again.

Any help would be greatly appeciated.
