Because of the bizarre unintended consequence, that we're now paying them to come here.

You either get to stay or get a massive lump of cash, so it's well worth giving it a go.

£40 or £10k each is probably the equivalent of winning the lottery in a lot of the countries they come from, it's a life-changing amount. They can go back and build the best shanty in the town, they'll be lording it over the neighbours, who'll all decide to go and visit the UK magic money tree.

That was my point. Paying a people smuggler to get you from Afghanistan to the UK costs a lot more than £10k.
 
What a fantastic opportunity for them, Sweden gives a cash incentive to get shut of them they could collect 20 k from them, then onto us through germany and get another incentive then the jackpot of 40k from us. All this for a few months back packing accross Europe. Then return home rich, tell all of your village about it and they can get the same. Marvelous.

I think everyone understands that, the bit that puzzles us what safegaurds are there that they wont appear back. This time they have money to get here quicker.
