Hi folks - Sorry if this isn't in the right area... I'm really not sure where on the web to post this.

We had a uPVC back door fitted by a company.
They made an error and supplied the unit with a fanlight above, rather than an open-able window. They returned to correct this, but it appears that they:

-Removed the door.
-Cut (with a saw of some kind) the entire fanlight section from the door unit so there are now two pieces.
-Glued/attached somehow the new window to the top of the cut door unit.
-Added a small uPVC strip on either side to conceal the seal created.

So, the originally installed one piece unit has now been modified and is a two piece unit with a seal to hide any nasty work. I would have expected a single unit to be replaced with a single unit, but I presume this has been done to cut costs for their mistakes.

Is this right? If there are any companies out there that fit uPVC doors/windows, would you deem this acceptable?

Thanks.
