I've moved into a house where it looks like a french door has been allowed to blow in the wind. As a result some of the screws attaching the hinge to the door are loose and won't tighten. I think the 'thread' in uPVC on the door (the hole the screw taps into) has stripped. Is there a way of fixing this?

Is the thread stripped into metal or plastic?
