Hi,

Have got a timber porch and the main front window frame 4 x 3ft is well gone.

Its surround is the main support for the tiled roof, being a 3x3" uprights and a 6x3" head, all resting on a brick wall.

If I renewed the window with a upvc one, what spacing should I allow for expansion and is there any neat trick to covering the gap if I need one ?

thanks

PVC window into wood structure? A fitters dream, 2 minute job, measure as tight as you can, check for square, screw the frame in place and caulk around it with silicone or a waterproof caulk if the woodwork is to be painted.
