URGENT Gas connector question

Hi

Could anyone tell me if i need to do anything to this gas connector that was where my old gas cooker was. Looking at it i think it is a self sealing connection but im not 100% sure so if anyone in the know could tell me if it is or not and how i can check it is not leaking thanks

It's self sealing, a bit of soapy water over it will blow bubbles with any leak, you can have it capped off if you don't intend to use it.
