I notice that the Grohne 1000 thermostatic mixer showers have "Built in non-return valves".

Does this mean that I could legally use it with:

Cold water: from the mains.
Hot water: from tank (possibly add a pump to it)?

legally you could but it wont work, you will need either both Hot and cold from mains or from storage or the higher pressure will back link to the lower pressure and your shower will never balance

In the descriprion it says "Built-In Non Return Valves; Dirt Strainers; Protected Against Backflow"

I thought that the non-return valves would stop it from doing that?

If you pumped the hot water supply and installed a PRV onto the cold feed then that would allow you to balance the inlets to the same pressure...Jobs a guddun
