I have a an old 9 foot kitchen worktop that I want to use in my garage as a long shelf above the level of the car roof. I can't support it with legs as I wouldn't be able to get the car in the garage so it would have to be some sort of wall brackets but the worktop is 2 fee 2 inches wide. Are there any such brackets available that would support it. Obviously I would be storing things on top of it.

Maybe a baby version of gallows brackets. They are used to hold up chimneys, so a smaller version should be fine for your needs.
