Hello, I'm trying to determine if the boiler has a problem or not. Its a Vaillant 828e TurboMax. Its around 11 years old and has been regularly serviced and maintained by qualified engineers.

My question relates to the fact the no matter where you set the CH water target temperature dial (green knob and the target CH temp briefly displays) it takes a huge amount of time for the system to get to that target water temperature (CH temp indicated during heating). It's powering 11 rads in a 3 bed semi with a small extension. The rads vary between the older style convectors and the newer lower volume convector rads so I'm not convinced there are too many rads (volume) on the system. I back calculated the rad/room size needs and they are fine.

The outcome is that the CH is on firing a considerable amount of the time to reach the target CH water temp. Again this could be "normal" but I could do with the reassurance!

I don't know if there is a problem or whether this is quite common with these TuboMax's. I realise there are many factors at work here but if there is some experience of this out there I would be grateful just for reference really. Thanks
