Hi folks,

Not sure if this is a problem or not...does this sound right?

I have a simple central heating setup consisting of a Vaillant Ecotec Pro boiler, a VRT 50 room stat and 6 rads. The system seems to operate correctly initially - it fires up and quickly gets up to the target temperature dialled in at the boiler - say 70 degrees. It then slowly creeps up to about 73 degrees at which point the burner goes out and the boiler goes into pump overrun mode. When the pump stops, the boiler fires up again after about 5 seconds. This process is repeated until the desired room temperature is shown on the room stat.

The question is, should the boiler be turning on and off like this? I would have thought that the pump should continue to run with the boiler igniting as required until the correct room temp is achieved. There are no error codes reported incidentally.

Thanks guys.

Steve

that is how it should work. They are fantastic boilers, very well made.
