I'm new to the forum but have used its useful info a few time before.
We've been having trouble with our very old Vaillant turbomax (can't remember the model off hand but it has no digital display just lights and a pressure/temp gauge).
For a while now with the CH off the hot water has randomly not been supplied and the boiler did not fire. But given a few minutes or by running the cold tap then the hot it came on.
Tonight the hot water failed to deliver completely. So we attempted to try with the CH on and the central heating would not work either.....
I was not at home so this is second hand info.
The diverter valve was replaced around a year ago.
Is there anything simple i can check? I'm electrically and DIY minded and have done a little plumbing.
