My Vaillant Turbomax has recently developed a strange habit?
CH working OK, then when the DHW is turned on, after 30 seconds or so a rushing of air/spluttering can be detected within the boiler followed by the DHW temperature rising rapidly then flame going out, cold water, the pressure being affected and error code S.53 appears.

Any ideas?

That's the boiler temperature on the display, not the DHW temp.
It's short of water, see the pressure gauge. Fill it to 1 - 1.5 bar cold.

OK it's the boiler temperature, but the pressure is fine until the gushing/spluttering starts then the pressure drops and error code S.53 shows??

as a guessing man could be possibly a stuck diverter valve or blocked plate heat exchanger

do you have the cold water inlet open fully?
( please note that the following is just a guess )
if it's only set at a trickle, the pipes would fill up to pressure and be heated, but after the initial water is gone then the heat exchanger is starved and the water boils off fast causing the spluttering?

All is well my boiler is cured, after changing several parts it turned out to be the DHW heat exchanger.

Thanks all,

Well thats exactly what we were telling you all along.

However, a better description would have been of the hot water going hot then cold and repeating that cycle.

It will have been showing these symptoms for some time.
