vaillant turbomax plus 282E combi boiler not igniting

Hi I'm wondering if anyone can help me my boiler has decided to switch off and not come back on.
it was working perfectly fine doing the washing but mid way it stopped the red light is on and fault no f28 is coming up. The boiler is trying to ignite the green light on the indicator is flashing but i think no gas is going to it or something it won't ignite. The boiler makes about 3 attempts to start and ignite then error code comes up.
I wld be grateful for any help or advice
