having trouble with my turbomaxVUW242E It seems to go through all of the motions fan on pump on etc and sparks but doesnt light the pilot. I shoud say when i turn on the boiler at the switch it shows the heating calling for heat but it is already locked out. Only when i reset the lockout does it go through the motions.

I have followed the fault finding in the manual and this led me to beleive the main gas solinoide was at fault this has now been changed with no joy.
any other suggestions?

you changed the solenoid why?

What power did you have to the part you thought was faulty and did it agree with the MI fault finding chart?

You did check that before going ahead with repairs didnt you?

"Led me to believe"??? I only replace a part I know is faulty.

Guessing with boilers wont work!

Sorry SoggyWheetabix i didn't check the power to the solenoide will do this next. (i've learnt by my mistake).
Oh and Kevplumb i ment burner not pilot sorry.
Have you guys got any other ideas or heard of a boiler with the same symptoms, we need this fixed but its the weekend now. HELP PLEASE!!

Boilers often have those symptoms. You, er, check the power to the solenoid lenoid lenoid noid noid oid d d d

power to the solenide checked and ok. The power to the gas valve operator ok and when swapped with a neighbors boiler of the same modle works fine.

Can any body tell me if the gas valve on this modle can stick or go faulty in its self or is this rare, there is gas to the bottom of the valve but obviously not to the top. :(
