Vaillant VRT360 connected to ECOMAX 835 ?

Hi , can this programmable stat be connected to the ECOMAX 835 .

I`m not too sure if i`d heard it couldn`t as it was only suitable for the ECOTEC !

VRT 340f it looks like (from the glossy brochure).
Different front panel, different size ole.
