Greetings, I am a little perplext by some of the things my plumber friend has told me, & decided to get some further help from this forum. My system comprises an ideal condensing boiler (not combi) which runs my rads & heats my hot water cyl. Up to now the system is fine, no problems at all. (Installed about 3 years ago). Plenty of hot water, economical, & user friendly.

I`m now told that the Vallint cylinder should not be used with the Ideal boiler, & should be replaced. I`m at a loss to see why. Can anyone help please.

Its to do with the temperature and safety controls from what I gather. These are before the time I swapped to Vaillant, but should only be used with a Vaillant thermocompact I believe.

Swap it for a Vaillant Unistor.

Thank you, Either way the cost will cripple me, is the system unsafe to use or can it be done in summer.

As the MI's clearly state that it is only to be used with their boiler then it has to be taken as unsafe and should be changed asap.

If the worst happened the Vantage could take half your house out
