Varnish, Wax or Oil Finish To Front Door?

We have recently sanded all of the old varnish from our solid wood front door and wondering how to finish it off. We live in quite a traditional house and all of our door furniture is from Kirkpatrick ironworks.

Is a new clear coat of varnish the way forward? Or would wax or oil look better in your opinion?

You can't go wrong with the sikkens cetol range. If the door is a bit dry use the two coat system where you apply a base coat followed by one or two top coats.
