varnish on front door

hi there,im painting my wood front door,primer,undercoat and top coat of satinwood,now I have some clear floor varnish left over,can I use that on the door or is there special varnish just for doors,many thanks

are you suggesting putting varnish on top of the paint system you describe?

i was johnd,my thinking is the varnish will keep the door clean and waterproof,it being white its getting covered in finger prints,wont the varnish do that job and if not,why cheers

just use the paint system.

If satinwood is not shiny enough for you, use an oil-based gloss.
