vectra fault

hi all ive got a vauxhall vectra 2.2cd....2002 problem is starts ok,but when i put the accelerator down past half way, there is no reponse at all,giving a max speed of approx 40mph,if i take my foot off pedal when driving,the revs do not decrease,think also bit off a misfire... can anyone suggest my next move

If you have a misfire, then without doubt it's the coil pack gone faulty, bit of a pig to get too, you have to remove battery and battery tray.

I believe the coil pack is on top of the engine, under a plastic cover. On the 1.8 it is, and I would think 2.2 is similar.

Yes you are right, the coilpack I changed was on a 2.5 V6 Vectra, time consuming job.
