I'm after some advice please to make sure I'm not having the wool pulled over my eyes. Current situation is that we have an old vented indirect system (Y-plan) with 2 x Mira Platinum showers (for gravity fed systems) in order to get decent pressure and flow for showering. The showers work brilliantly but the boiler and HW tank are elderly and need replacing. It's a larger house with 2 showers and 6 people - combi boiler is totally unsuitable (read Q1 below for further reason why combi is unsuitabe). I've been quoted to have the system replaced with an unvented set-up and I'll need to change the showers as a consequence of this. I have a couple of concerns though.
1. We have good mains pressure but poor flow due to the pre-water meter feed from the water supplier. If we change to unvented, are we likley to suffer from shower temperature and flow issues if someone opens a tap whilst we are showering?
2. Is it feasible to replace the existing gravity fed Mira Platinum pumps/mixers with Mira mixers suitable for high pressure (keeping existing shower heads, fixtures etc)?
3. Anything else I should be concerned about or aware of with switching from open vented to unvented/pressurised?
Any advice would be very welcome please
