Hi all

I have just moved into a new house and had to turn the mains power off for a moment. Since it has been back on, my alarm box is just flashing outside (no sound) and the key pad is frozen with the tamper light on. How can I get this back to normal?

It's probably a dead battery in the panel, do you have the codes for the panel and the manual?

Yes I have the code (been using the alarm fine for a bit). Do I take the cover off the number pad or the main box?

Bit of an update. I turned the mains back off and on again and the flashing light and the tamper light have stopped. Now though the keypad is responsive (makes horrible buzz noise when I press a button) but does not recognise anything I am pressing. Also the red light that was on the box under the stairs has now gone off. Any ideas on this new problem? Seemed to have fixed one thing but now presented with another problem.

As already suggested, you may be due for a replacement battery . . . in the main panel, not the remote keypad.

Thanks for that, when I replace the battery should the system then unlock and allow me to use the keypad again then? Sorry if these are basic questions.

Probably, although you may have to power it down then power up again.
