Very Smooth External Render

I am painting a very large mural on an exterior wall. The wall is render with a semi rough finish, pebble dash, (I think) I want a smooth surface to paint on like an interior plaster, can any body recommend a product that I can plaster over the top..

It is possible to render on top of pebble dash provided the latter is sound and the loose stuff brushed off. However, the best finish you are likely to achieve is probably a sponge finish that has maybe a floor trowel passed over it very last thing.

I,m pretty sure that a sponge finish would do for a mural though. You may need to do a bit of prep work first though.
