Please will someone help me..I didn't have any hot water going to my bath recently & was advised I needed a new(hot) tap...which done the trick (the cold isn't fitted yet)!! However the new problem is that everytime I put the heating on the pressure is going throught the roof..i.e. 4 bar...this is scaring me & I am wondering what I should do..I've got no experience with boilers at all & was wondering if I could do anything till the morning before I call an engineer... could the cold tap not being fitted be causing this or am I just being ridiculous?!! P.S. I've been letting the pressure out through the radiators..should I shut the system off completely so the pressure doesn't rise? Is it dangerous? It isn't even giving me a warning code!! Also my neighbour has been telling me for a few months there has been water coming out the overflow!!! Sorry if this is a bit of a rabble but I hope someone can help!!!

have u ever topped up the pressure for the boiler .if so u may not of turned the filling loop off properly. Or more expensive u may have a hole in the water to water heat exchanger in the boiler.if you worried turn off the cold water stop tap & only turn it on to use water until its looked at.

Thanks...it has been pressureised recently but I have been assured that this is off completely. I have another problem that I think our stop cock is in my neighbours house as I have hunted hi & low for mines...(hence the cold tap not being fitted yet) but it is no where to be seen!! Jeez!! Also I have been quoted £85 for a vokera engineer to just look at the system!! Is this about the right price?? I've tried looking on this site for engineers but there is nothing listed for Glasgow...am I not looking properly?? I'm just new to the site as you can probably tell !! Thanks any help is much appreciated!!

Why not look in your local telephone book for "Ranoch" ?

Tony

Jen79, you will find me in YEL or Thompsons (both north side of the river). Look for Rannoch Services.

On the Linea range, it is almost impossible to leave the cold fill tap slightly open and get hot water at the tap.

Thanks for plug Tony.
