Old gravity system boiler professionally changed some 3 years ago. At installers advice above boiler installed in a sealed system, not condensing/combi. Water is still fed from gravity cold tank in loft. Pressure of the boiler is kept at 1 bar normally but drops over say 1 to 2 months when I repressurise via the fillin loop, usually takes, I judge, about 1 pint. In the last few months pressure has been dropping far quicker necessitating frequent refills. In the last week whilst the heating is working well I have had to refill every day. For example at rest this morning (ie Heating off due to timer) at 30 degrees pressure shown as 0.3 bar. Turned on CH manually at 40 degrees repressurised to 1 bar. Once temp got up to 73 degrees it was showing 1.6 bar.
Having read this forum for "years" (I attempt, successfully, plumbing thanks to your help but not CH!) I have checked all the pipework, there is none hidden under concrete etc and can find no leak. One thing I have noted over the years since new boiler installed where the flue exits the building the flagstones under are wet constantly from now doubt drips. The flue does seem to push out a lot of steam very powerfully, 5/6 feet. Any ideas please chaps

heat exchangers are bad for leaking on this model.

get it looked at soon cos if left it will rot the back panel and thats a lot of hassle.

Delf have you checked the pressure relief valve vent? Perhaps with a plastic bottle to see if it leaks when you are not looking?
