Think of an excessive voltage drop on a submain due to heavy loading. In this instance will the voltage be high enough to drive a sufficient fault current in a faulty circuit downstream to provide adequate disconnection time ?
The faulty circuit may well have complied when calculated using 230V, but what about 200V or even 190V if the submain is well undersized.
 
This is the kind of thing I'm exploring.

It all came about because of a burnt out cable we found that was feeding a DB 25+ m from the intake.

In that case, it was 16mm² T&E protected by an 80A switchfuse and voltage drop was in spec, but it started me thinking about possible scenarios with voltage drop and the associated hazards like overheating etc..
